Greater Than Featured by KGW and Oregon Community Foundation

Yesterday we were honored to be featured by KGW news for our Ready Schools programs as part of Oregon Community Foundation's GO Kids grant funding. Ready Schools invests in the transition to Kindergarten as a key time to connect schools to families to meet their needs, establish relationships, and support students as they enter kindergarten. Each year we help facilitate family-teacher meetings, plan summer academic enrichment opportunities, and distribute culturally appropriate home learning "kits" for every incoming Kindergartener. The kits have toys, books in the primary language spoken in their home, and other activities to support the skills needed in their first year of school.

We just feel like we’re in service to what the parents and the kids need. And I am just thankful everyday to be part of that.
— Mark Langseth, President & CEO of Greater Than

We are grateful to the Oregon Community Foundation for supporting this aspect of our work and for bringing visibility to Greater Than and other grantees, all of whom do incredible work in the community.
